NA?
Nb?
Or NC?
I like the 1.8 NA the best, followed by the nc, then the NB.
For me the NA feels and looks the most timeless. It is also the most humble of the bunch. It isn't trying to look tough or imposing. I also love the hood, it is both very short but long at the same time.
The NC is a great car. It is comfortable for a man my size and it still has the spirit and feel of the original.
The NB is to the NA what the N64 was to the SNES. The snes was the pinnacle of 2d gaming. It was bright, colorful and timeless. The N64 was neat when it came out, but as time passed I felt like it was caught in the weird part of a transition for the industry. Still a great car though.

1.8 NA, the one I own, is my favorite. I think if I went with a non NA 1.8 Miata my next choice would be the opposite, a PRHT NC. This might need reorganizing after today.

I've had a '93 NA and '99 and '04 NBs, and the difference between the NA and the NB is so minimal that it makes practically no difference, especially from inside. Aside from the headlights and taillights they're essentially the same car.

They're already pissed at me. I don't see what the big deal is though. It's not like they don't spam oppo with other junk on other theme days. I play along and smile on all those days.

While I agree with your statement,

Sames. I think it kills the point if you try to confine a theme to one post

And why shouldn't we get a theme day for the ND reveal. They keep calling us gay but won't let us have a parade.

While I do think that the 1.8NA is a better car, the engine noise of the 1.6NA at high revs sends chills up my spine.
Sure, with the 1.6 you also get the wonky old-school clockspring-with-flapper MAF sensor, the utterly puzzling coolant routing, and the lack of a few crucial safety features, but that noise...

Glad I searched for this post before making one of my own as an amateur to the world of Miatas.
I've been browsing craigslist all day for NAs. As far as size and looks go, I love the NA the most and is the car I'm most interested in. Which year did they start having passenger airbags? 94, along with the 1.8l? I found a couple of nice latter years NAs for sale in my area and am quite intrigued...especially in a beautiful STO model for sale. Any particular years or "editions" that are more desirable? Personally I don't see a significant difference between the bunch, especially given that these are almost 20 years old at this point - what's cleanest and least molested is best, I would think?
What benefits would one gain with the NB? Seems a little more civilized, but not a particular concern for me. Any significant benefits in terms of fuel economy, reliability, chassis dynamics, etc.?
The real question though, comes down to - is it worthwhile selling the E30 for a clean NA? Less power, less space - but cheaper to maintain, more economical, and equally fun (in a slightly different way, perhaps)?
